Small plate radio is a business unit of xhang creative, an audio-centric creative agency based in portland, oregon. we are comprised of editors, writers, engineers and creative types that are focused on creating the next era of good audio content.

 

We all have extensive experience in the broadcast radio world as air-talent, morning show producers, creative directors and audio editors.

what kind of technology do you have?

We are proudly 100% mac and 100% digital. because of powerful technology and new tools, we are able to run a traditional “broadcast” studio but in a way that doesn’t rely on extensive equipment.

 

We can accommodate a broadcast using call-ins through VOIP technology.

 

We can connect to remote studios anywhere around the world using Source Connect, making it sound like hosts or guests are actually in the studio.

 

We also provide a “house mac” that can be used for IM, email, web research and more.

 

We have the latest 360 systems instant replay box to fire on-air elements during your show.

 

Along with all of this, we constantly seek new technology and tools that we can add to the studio to make broadcasts even better and more efficient.

what kind of shows do you do?

small plate radio is developing all kinds of shows including the a:radio network, dedicated to the world of advertising, branding, media and public relations. we are currently exploring a number of ideas and concepts.

 

as of now, we are focusing on talk/lifestyle programming. we are considering some music-based content as well.

what other audio content do you do?

small plate radio is all about live internet radio, but we can also accommodate podcasting or other pre-recorded content.

what kind of support do you give?

small plate radio can do as much or as little as you need. for every project or show, you will get a qualified engineer to make sure everything runs well and sounds great. the other things we can give you includes:

how much does it cost to do a show?

small plate radio rates start at $175 per hour and include the following available to you: one show host, an engineer to execute the show (including phones), show prep prior to broadcast, editing of audio and publicity/press release if applicable.

 

the average time to prepare and execute a one-hour show from prep to completion is around 2.5 to 3 hours.

 

a great way to help cover the cost of your broadcast is to consider advertising and sponsorship. we can help you put together marketing/promotional materials to sell your show at no additional cost.

 

small plate radio also offers terms in the event you would like to spread payments out over time. we are also open to volume or project-based budgets with revenue sharing opportunities.
